If you would like whiter, brighter teeth, professional teeth whitening is a simple cosmetic treatment that can noticeably improve the appearance of your smile. Whether your teeth have been stained by cola, smoking, antibiotics, coffee, tea or wine, or have simply darkened through natural aging, our whitening options offer a straightforward way to brighten them.
What is Teeth Whitening?
Teeth whitening is a safe, effective and minimally invasive cosmetic treatment that lightens the colour of your tooth enamel. It can brighten teeth that have become discoloured or stained by smoking, berries, coffee, tea, cola, wine or natural aging. Traumatic injuries, certain medications and fluorosis can also affect tooth colour. We offer personalized teeth whitening options to address these concerns.
In-Office Teeth Whitening
In-office teeth whitening is a simple, safe and effective cosmetic procedure carried out by our dental team at the clinic. Your dentist first protects your gums and lips so that only your teeth are exposed. A hydrogen peroxide gel is then carefully applied to the surface of your teeth and activated with a special LED light, which breaks down the carbon bonds responsible for discolouration and staining. The procedure is non-invasive and does not harm the structure of your teeth. Each whitening session typically lasts around 60 minutes and is usually repeated 3-4 times.
We also offer professional take-home teeth whitening kits, so you can whiten your teeth at home. Our dental team makes custom plastic trays, moulded from impressions of your teeth, and gives you a special hydrogen peroxide gel. You fill the trays with the gel and wear them over your teeth for 30 minutes twice daily until you reach the shade you want. Most patients see significant improvement within one to two weeks, though individual results vary.
